About Us

LAND USE AND
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
We strive to publicize the strengths of Portage County and to propose remedies for weaknesses. We encourage cooperation among government and private agencies to bring new economic activity to Portage County and to preserve our valuable land and water resources.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND TRANSPORTATION
We aim to promote a high quality of life for all Portage County residents by assessing and promoting community sector services.
COUNTY PROMOTION
This committee is focused on raising awareness for the county and for VIP by engaging both the public and elected officials in the development of a county-wide vision for strategic growth.
COMMUNITY FACILITIES
HOUSING
Our mission is to preserve, improve and develop housing to meet the needs and respect the character of each community in Portage County. We seek to strengthen housing initiatives as well as to improve access to housing for vulnerable populations.
NATURAL RESOURCES AND PARKS
Our committee promotes the protection of Portage County's natural and cultural heritage while preserving and promoting sustainable livelihoods and quality of life.
SOCIAL SERVICES
This committee works to meet the basic needs of people (physical and mental health, substance abuse, safety, etc.) through an integrated and collaborative system of care.
